Mother Of The Streets

Mother Of The Streets
By Paul McCann

Mother of the streets days turn into weeks .
Months turn into years as hope disappears .
Help those on the street .
In the snow and sleet .
They never complain
In the pouring rain .

Mother of the streets no one ever speaks
for any of them .
They’re little children .
They have no one there .
No Dad or mother .
All they have is you .
To help them pull through.

Mother of the streets they’re treated like freaks
They’re abused .
Hated and isolated .
Their life is so sad .
All they’ve ever had ,
Is hardship and grief .
They don’t get relief .

Mother of the streets no one ever keeps
You from helping those with no food or clothes .
They’re left in a hole .
In body and soul .
The streets are so cold .
For the young and old .

Mother of the streets whatever completes
An answer to prayer .
I ask you to care .
Sighing with a moan .
Dying all alone .
Crying when they hurt .
Lying in the dirt .

Mother of the streets , we need to pray heaps .
Ease the weight under the cross that they bear .
Inside of your heart .
Give them a new start .
A place to call home .
Where they’re not alone .
