It’s hard to forget

the bills that need paid

and money we owe .

 

Mother of debt

We work hard each day

and wait for our pay

that’s always so low .

 

Mother of debt

For those who owe us

we learn to have trust

and wait to be paid ,

 

Mother of debt

with backs to the wall

we borrow some cash

for debts we’ve outlaid .

 

Mother of debt

With the stress we’ve felt

we ask for some help

to get out of debt .

 

Mother of debt

In all our despair

We offer in prayer

The debts we’ve been set .
