as we knelt
and prayed we felt

with us through troubles
and
drove away the fear .

You watched
us play
in the childhood years we outgrew .
Mother

you were
in the laugher
of the
childhood days we knew .
Mother
of the innocent
we grew
up fast
and
left all our childhood days behind .
Mother of the innocent
Help us
in our old age
to be innocent
and kind .
